Nicole Swidlow is an experienced leader in education for sustainability, systems thinking, and nonprofit innovation. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Compass Education, a global organisation that supports schools and educators to integrate sustainability principles and systems practices into teaching and leadership.
With more than two decades of experience at the intersection of education, community development, and sustainability, Nicole’s work emphasises inclusive leadership, strategic systems approaches, and sustainable learning ecosystems. Her leadership has helped build global educator networks and expand innovative educational practices across numerous countries.Â
Before her role at Compass Education, Nicole was the Founder and Director of Centro Educativo Entreamigos, a community education and sustainability nonprofit in Mexico recognised for its creative and impactful approach to community-led learning and development. Nicole holds a Master’s degree in Education and Global Change from the University of British Columbia. As a thought leader and speaker, she champions strategies that help schools and communities build meaningful, sustainable learning environments.
We are dedicated to improving learning outcomes by supporting children and teenagers, and equipping teachers to help them not only attend school, but thrive across Northern Nigeria. We build the roots in primary schools and raise the leaders in secondary schools.
