SELI’s mission, vision, and programmes directly contribute to global development priorities as outlined in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our work aligns with the following goals:

We strengthen access to quality, inclusive education through playful learning, libraries, literacy programmes, teacher training, consulting, and youth development, ensuring children attend, remain, and thrive in school.

Through youth guidance, life skills, and informed decision-making programmes, we help children and young people adopt healthier choices that support their emotional, social, and overall well-being.

Our programmes promote equity and ensure that girls and boys have equal opportunities to learn, develop leadership skills, access resources, and receive mentorship.Â

Our programmes promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, ensuring that we fully prepare young people for full and productive employment and decent work for all.

We provide learning resources, scholarships, and support to underserved communities across Northern Nigeria, ensuring that no child or young person is left behind due to socioeconomic barriers.

Some of our projects ensure we take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

We work collaboratively with schools, parents, communities, NGOs, and development partners to drive sustainable education solutions and community-driven transformation.
Our vision is a Nigeria where every child and young person has access to quality education, joyful play and learning, and life-shaping opportunities that support school attendance, retention, and overall development, unlocking their full potential. We aspire to nurture confident, compassionate young leaders who transform their communities and inspire positive change across Nigeria and beyond.
We are dedicated to improving learning outcomes by supporting children and teenagers, and equipping teachers to help them not only attend school, but thrive across Northern Nigeria. We build the roots in primary schools and raise the leaders in secondary schools.
